Update October 7: registration is now closed. We have reached our capacity limit.
Listen, walk, wonder, speak, and share with the landscape. Come for a natural history hike that immerses you in stories of the Arroyo’s past, present, and potential future, featuring new research on historical ecology of the Arroyo Seco and Pasadena’s urban forest.
Learn how the stories that once flowed through the Arroyo Seco’s canyon have changed, share stories of your own encounters with Arroyo, and learn what you can do to support local wildlife.
Arroyo Seco Placekeepers is a community organizing project exploring ways to support community-based conservation and neighborhood advocacy through storytelling and performance. Hosted by representatives from the Arroyo Seco Foundation, Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, Pasadena Audubon Society, The Gamble House, Open Gate Theatre, and University of California-Davis
Meet in Brookside Park, north of the bandstand and behind the ball fields. We recommend parking near the Gamble House as that is where the event will end. A volunteer will meet attendees in front of the Gamble House at 3:45 pm to walk down to the start of the event. For those parking in Lot I next to Brookside Park, a volunteer will assist in getting back to your vehicle. Lemonade and picnic blankets provided at the top of the hill
Email Marcus Renner at mvrenner@gmail.com to RSVP and receive the event program ahead of time. This will also allow us to get in touch with you in case weather forces a postponement.
